We’ve enjoyed all kinds of “Count Down to Christmas” calendars over the years, including some of these in an advent calendar article I wrote for Look Local Magazine. But, as part of “Sharey Christmas” we decided to make this year’s calendar more about experiences—most of them simple, but with a few special activities thrown in.
What’s “Sharey Christmas” or “Merry Sharemas?” In this aVERY BRIGHT LIFE episode we chatted about how we’re trying to focus more on sharing what we have, more than spending and buying. I mean, Santa will still bring one present and a few useful and purposeful stockings stuffers. But it’s scaled way down. We’re collecting food for the food bank and donating gifts for tots and teens. The goal is to make Christmas about sharing, regifting, repurposing and enjoying experiences over material things. EPISODE 88
